Help Epad locked up

My epad is locked at the android cursor, everyone is saying to flash it to the new version firmware but this is what my other one says as firmware and i got both epads from same seller same day and i know they both have same:
Firmware: android2.1-update 1-20101030
Build number: st180-eng2.1-update 20101030

on the forum it says last firmware was 08/26 how do i have 10/30?? i never have updated anything, any ideas on how to get it unfrozen? cause my other one is acting up too
