Help Epic 4G Touch Camera .Apk Needed

CopyRight

Lurker
My E4T's camera app wasnt working so I downloaded and installed the one from the global vesion on the GS2 and it did't work so I was thinking if anyone here could extract it from a rooted E4T and give me a link to it.Thank you.

How do i install the apk.gz?

Either extract the file to get the APK, email it to yourself and install it or root, install Titanium backup, copy this file to the Titanium backup folder and restore it from there. If you extract and email the APK to yourself you'll have to check Unknown sources under settings>applications.

What I did:
I downloaded the apk.gz on to my phone with email.
I connected my phone to my computer and moved thapk.gz to my desktop and extracted and move the apk to my phone.
I would move the.apk back my phone and open it on my phone with a file manager and install it but at the end a message would pop up saying that the apk did not install.Where did I go wrong and how may I fix it? Thank you.

It probably would not install because it is a system app. I tried with the same results.

You might want to just root using this method. [ACS][Odin]Stock EG30 Odexed with Root 3.0/Busybox 1.18.4

It's simple and painless and will install the stock ROM and the camera app will be in there. You do not have to wipe and this process will not remove any apps or settings you have. The phone will act and look the same except you'll have root and your missing camera app.

As always, rooting is at your risk but I have this method on several phones and they all rooted without any problems during or after the process.

Dude it worked now if I change the kernal I could remove my root. Thanks

I need this as well. The hacked apk I downloaded sucks and I can't get the stock one back even after a hard reset.

Are you rooted? The one you downloaded installed into data/app, while your original camera.apk is in system/app (which shouldn't have been affected).
