Epic 4G wifi only Google Play not working

Hello to the few remaining slider diehards on this forum. My old Sprint Epic 4G slider might be dying on me. I had to do a factory reset and was just installing my apps when it locked up. After a restart Touchwiz was gone and the stock android launcher showed up (Sprint ID feature). Since I no longer have phone service o. This old phone I cannot get the Samsung Touchwiz back (Sprint ID feature). Worst of all, Google Play no longer works and I lost Google Maps plus a number of other useful apps. Any ideas out there? This is a stock 2.3.6 FC09 android phone. My all time favorite that I use on Wifi when I get sick of my GN2 touch keyboard with my fat fingering typos. I am afraid to do a factory reset and lose the few apps I have left.

There's a Galaxy keyboard available on Play.

As far as Play not working on wifi, no solution, but you can install apps on the N2, back them up to apk files, move the apk files to the Epic and run them to install the apps.

Thanks for the tips. Glad there are a still a few Epic4G fans still out there. I am afraid some of the recent google updTes are respo si le for messing up both my Epic4G and GN2. I hate the space bar and shift key placement on my GN2. I will take a peek at the gala y keyboard app.
