Epic & Evo: Worst mistake ever.

I know, the title is a little deceiving.

I recently bought my mother (48) and her husband (54) and Epic and an Evo. I shouldn't have done that. They have no idea what they're doing with these phones. I get phone calls for the dumbest reasons and I don't even own an Android phone.

It took him 45 minutes to set up his Qik account. He says the guys at work showed him how to use it, but he's slowly learning. This is the same guy who had an LG Optimus (he didn't need that phone either) and tired to put music on it through iTunes!!!

I'm playing tech support day and night. Now that the clocks are going forward, there is more daylight for them to be awake and ask questions. This is going to be a long, long, long summer! Luckily I love phones and I don't mind playing around with them.

"How do I set my clock?" -- *face palm*

Yea my mom wants the thunderbolt because it has 'big buttons' I dread the day it finally comes out.

LOL! I've never heard that as a reason to get the phone. But, I am with your mom on that. I can't wait for the Thunderbolt to drop. If it never does, I'll gladly get an Evo, though. I'm just overly excited to get a Thunderbolt. With my luck, I probably won't get it. It just always happens that way for me. :(

Lol, what do you have to set up with qik? I only used it once before rooting and switching to a rom without it, but you just dial the phone number for someone else that has it... everything is already set up.

That is exactly what I said. There was three fields, one was already completed.

That's it.

45 minutes...

hahahaha....
my ex-gf: her dad or bf or bro would normally put gas in the car for her.
I say: "what do you mean??? you dont know how to pour gas into your car???"

my ex-wife: (my daughter; she is 7yr old and i gave her my old hero to use as a non-phone toy).
she said to me: "mom said she dont know how to use the usb cable to charge the phone you gave me."

My mom still uses a MotoRAZR because she can't understand anything else. She legitimately tried to find my keyboard on my Droid x for 10 minutes - trying to slide one out or figure out where I hid it. After that she thought she held it upside down when trying to talk on the phone. Never will she use my phone again when her battery dies out :P.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, its the same woman who has problems finding out how to wake her iMac from sleep (press literally any button, mom)
