Root eris flashed to cricKet

i have few newb Questions.. (sorry)

my phone is a verizon htc eris, flashed to cricket. when i boot it up i see senseable (guessing thats the rom)3. i know my phone is rooted with superuser permissions). everything works, mms sms ect ect. i have to take it back twice now cause the root has broken and SU freezes or shows nothing. are there apps out there that can interfere with the root.
the first time i took it back i called *228(yeah i know) cause mms stopped workin(thought that wouold fix), NOT. then i called cricket *611 to upgrade to android plan, SU stopped working again.

so do i just call cricket on landline or deal directly with the cricket that flashed phone?

second question is if i flash a new rom will all my data settings and cricket settings out the window? would i have to get it flashed for cricket again.
(before i took it to get flashed , i tried to do it myself with the help of a tut. at xda but i guess i needed to flash a rom first, idont know ut anyhelp would be nice..
could i make a backup and if had to restore all would be fine/(thru recovery)

... ROMFSorry for being so uneducated on the Htc Droid Eris, but Ive been trying for awhile to figure out if my phone is ROOTED OR NOT!!? MY BF GOT IT FROM CRAIGSLIST ALREADY FLASHED TO CRICKET. CAN somebody just plz verify if having that Superuser icon DOES IN FACT MEAN... MY PHONE HAS BEEN ROOTED? IF SO... WAT DOES THIS MEAN I CAN DUE NOW TO BETTER THIS PHONE ?! THANK U. Soon i will be getting a new phone, but i just wanted to play with it. Any ideas? I appreciate ur help. Ss

If you have Su then you should be rooted yes. Do you have a custom recovery as well? If so you can flash a Rom if you'd like but I think there's something else to flash for cricket. When I'm back to my computer I can post more along with links.

I have a question regarding this phone i have three of them and i'm currently am with verizon and want to switch to cricket but don't wan their phone. all of my phones are completly rooted and i've been threw all the write ups i can find.

1. do i need an account with cricket before i flash my phone over to them?
2. can't get qpst v2.7 build 323 to connet to my phone (windows 7)?
3. does anyone have a complete flash yet? (Cricket can do it why can't I)

I'm desent with computers and have no problems rooting and flashing roms on the phones.

still havent found a rom past 2.1 anybody know? every post i see is from last year so outdated? have tried a few 2.2 and one 2.3. cant get past mms working. and camera pics are to big for my non android plan. maybe thats the problem. im on the 40 plan so thats why i have to set the proxY ?

I'm a VZW customer, so I am not 100% sure, but what happens if you install APN Backup & Restore on the 2.1 ROM that is working, back up the APN info, Nandroid restore a Froyo or GB ROM and then (after installing APN Backup & Restore) restoring the APN info? Does that work?
