Eris said update available..

This morning my phone said there was an update available, and it prompted me to enter a word (kinda like a captcha) and appeared to be a google update.
I can't tell what it did though and I didn't see it specify an app anywhere that required the update. I figured since it was Google it was legit.

Any idea, or should I have ignored it?

Go check the status of your phone under settings. There you can see what verison you are running if it infact was the 2.1 update Im sure you would have known.

That was the first thing I checked. Software version is 1.17 and firmware is 1.5, and I'm 90% sure that's what it was before.

Yea thats what I have right now and I was not prompted for any updates. Honestly I dont know then. You are sure it didnt say it was an app being updated? Like google maps or any other google app you may have?

Open the Market app and look at your downloads. The top one in the list is the most recent download (or update). That might give you a hint as to what happened.

Last thing was Handcent telling me I had (another?!) update available. Nothing from Google :-/

Curious and curiouser.
