Root Error installing Superuser CT Mod

dmt411

Lurker
EDIT: Last night I reloaded CTMod 3.8.0, then restored backed up of data (contacts, call log, sms, mms, system settings, android home, dictionary, calendar & music playlist. I didn't do APN's because of warning networks may not work & I do not know what apn's are.) I haven't yet restored apps & media and if I do something will begin to cause the second two errors involving processes com.google. I believe something in there is causing the other two errors. What could this back up contain that would cause process errors?

About phone.

Samsung Galaxy Prevail SPH-M820-BST
Kernel Ver 2.3.6
CTMod 3.8.0

I upgraded from CTMod 3.75.2 Final to 3.8.0. I booted into clock work mod chose install from SD.

Then used Mybackup pro to restore apps. during the restore process I started getting phone out of space message and not all apps restored. Now when phone boots up I get error message "The application google play store (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" I click the force close button then get error "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" force close again.

Another error is The super user binary (su) must be updated. Please choose an installation method. recovery mode installation is recommended for HTC devices. Buttons Install, Recovery Install & Cancel. I click Recovery install then get message "There wan an error installing superuser. Please send a log of the error to the developer. OK button.

I don't know how to acquire the log to send.

Thanks in advance.

Solved it.

1. Install from SD CTMod 3.8.0 then settings, CT settings, Koumamod to data for partition already made so apps can fit on 200 mb phone & 2 Gb partition.
2. Connect to wifi (bad signal at home)
3. go to google play download My Backup Pro I had purchased earlier.
4. Use My Backup to restore data first then apps & media.

So far no problems.

Glad you got it figured out and that it worked for you. I usually use Titanium Backup Pro for restoration of apps and data and have been using it for years now. I've never really used My Backup Pro but sounds like it did the trick for you and that is what counts!! Nice! :D

Hopefully others can learn from your experience. Thanks for passing on the information.

Thanks WB7, glad to pass along what I can. I see you have a variety of phones listed and Boost as carrier. Which one is your preference? I feel like my Galaxy Prevail is sluggish and slow, might look into a change.

I'm using the HTC ONE SV as my primary. I still love to play around with the Marquee and Prevail though. :D
