Help Error When Attempting 2.2 Froyo Update (Mesmerize)

I am attempting to upgrade to 2.2 Froyo. I keep getting this error in Samsung Kies while attempting to complete the download of binary files.

"""Result

SCH-I500 could not be upgraded.

1. Detach and reattach the mobile phone's battery.

2. Reboot the mobile phone, and then try the upgrade again.""


I have tried the solution above several time with no luck. I have also tried without the media card, with the screen constantely lit, in a different USB port, reinstalling the drivers & rebooting, flashing the entire phone back to factory settings....

Nothing is working. Can anyone help me solve this issue?

I have done a few of these updates. For some reason, only 1 of my 2 computers will "allow" the update to happen. I don't get it either.

Worst case scenario, go to a uscc store and have a tech upgrade the phone. Or try another computer.

Just remember to back up your contacts since the update reverts the phone to factory settings (which sounds like you already did a reset on your phone).
