Error while install the whatsapp

Hi,

I am receiving "unknown error code during application installation -24" while installing the Whatsapp in Micromax A117. Can some one help me on this.

You had Whatsapp on the phone before?

Settings/Applications or Settings/General/Applications manager.

Go to Google Play Store. Clear cache and clear data.

Go to Google Play services. Clear cache and data.

Or, if your phone is rooted, use a file manager and go to /data/data/. Find the whatsapp folder and delete it.

I have the same issue. WhatsApp stopped when I started a trial of ART, and I uninstalled and attempted reinstall before I knew it was a known problem. I reverted from ART, but install still results in error 24. I understood this was because WhatsApp is one of the very few apps that are incompatible with ART, and the uninstall left behind a file that effectively prevents reinstall. The only remedy offered was to factory reset or to root the phone to gain access to and delete the problem file.
This I resisted, but would like to know what the effect of removing Play Store app data. Would this affect other apps installed?
