Help error while updating via kies

yesterday i bought galaxy s from Egypt it has android 2.2.1 Froyo when i connected it to kies it says his device cannot be updated i installed Kies2.0 Registry Patcher v.1.8.0.0 now it says there is new update when i click update and it download firmware upgrade components it says again this device cannot be updated

What is the version of Kies software that you are using?
Uptill now Kies_2.0.1.11053_66_6 is the latest.
If yours is older version, then upgrade to latest one.

My problem is when I connect my phone (Samsung Galaxy S) to the PC, it detects that an update is available and when I click on the options it tells me that it cannot update because I am not connected to the internet which I am and I am using other screens.

I have Galaxy S GT-I9000. As soon as I connected my phone to the PC (Kies), it automatically upgraded it to 2.3 from its native 2.2 Android version. Now I find that some of the features have been lost in the process. Particularly the 'pinch and zoom' feature for the text messages. It is really needed for the persons like me with eyesight problems. Can someone help me in the matter???? Will be thankful.

Hi-
spent most of yesterday afternoon with Samsung chat! I have kies mini, and have the galaxy S (sgh-I897). I think if I stood on my head and recited the constitution, this thing would not upgrade. Last advice was to remove kies and re install. On top of that my connection to google has disappeared! - have tried all the tricks listed, but it will not recognize me for mail, calender or contacts.
if anyone has a silver bullet please pass it on- thanks
