Help Errors in playing movies on the TV

I downloaded my first movie and made the right connections to play it on my TV using the hdmi
cable. The movie played well on the TV but after a while the picture stopped for about 5 seconds
and played again and then stopped, and this is only on the TV and not on the phone, and then
appeared again for few minutes and went on like this. I tried another movie and the same thing
happened many stoppages. I transferred the movie to the Laptop and it played nicely without
interruptions or stoppages.
So please let me know what is wrong here.

Need more info. I.E. what are you using to play the movie? What type of movie mkv, avi etc. Have you tried youtube on the tv? t see it it works..I got this one Cable Matters 6 Feet Micro USB to HDMI MHL Cable in: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
About 2 weeks ago and its brill. I can play games, movies on the big screen. (When my Wife lets me)

now, the stoppages and the blackout of the TV screen is less now than before. Thank you again.
