ES File Explorer has a new UI

As far as i know that cant be done with Box (auto upload). Im very new to it and only use it rarely for sharing things because my dropbox is full. Why not use Google+ to auto upload every pic you take? Its free and i think the storage space is fairly huge

Google Drive is limited to like 10 gb I think. Used to by 5 before they restructured their storage program. The instant upload that's unlimited reduces the image quality by like 20x. A 2.5mb file gets reduced to around 150kb. There are actually apps out there specifically to auto upload for BOX. I just really liked the idea of handling it all using a file management system. I could back up data, files and media all in the same place. The part that doesn't make sense is why doesn't the backup refresh itself when you've added something to a linked file. I've created a few dumby files and added stuff to them and es3 didn't do a think with it. It just sat there and never backed up. Idk I'm gonna dig through forums tomorrow. This is pretty basic stuff the answer has to be right in front of my face.

I copied my camera file to the box extension

Can you tell me more about what that means? The terminology seems a little off.

It sounds to me like you configured your Box account in ES File Explorer then copied your folder full of images to Box, then expected it to copy new files. If that's what you did, and if my own understanding of ES File Explorer's abilities is correct, you do not understand what ES File Explorer does as a cloud storage client. My understanding is that ES File Explorer does not handle any auto-upload or synchronization, it's just used for on-demand uploading/downloading of files manually chosen.

There are plenty of cloud storage services whose Android client auto-uploads photos. There are a few cloud storage services offering 100GB free. Perhaps one of the 100GB free ones has an Android client that auto-uploads photos. I have signup bonus links for all of them, at the link in my sig! Muahahahah! ;)

But seriously, Surdoc gives you 100GB and their Android client says it auto-uploads photos. Use the link in my sig and I think we both get an extra 10GB...I'm not sure, nobody's used it yet.

15GB after the restructure, which combined the allotments for Drive, gmail, and Picasaweb.

That's correct. ES File Explorer doesn't do any auto upload or sync - but it does more than just provide a UI for managing files. It can stream non-local video files to your local video player, can act as an FTP server, and can be used to transfer files from one device to another when both devices are on the same LAN.

Oh yeah, it's a veritable Swiss Army Knife of Android utilities...I was just talking about its cloud storage functionality.

It has a text editor, app manager, can play/display all manner of media, connects to Windows-style (SMB) file shares (like cloud storage, just for manual file operations) and probably NFS too, has the perfect storage usage analyzer (too bad it only works on SD, not on internal!), has wifi connection manager, a million other things that I don't remember, and of course is one awesome file manager.

It's a cure-all too...cures fits, warts, freckles, coughs, colds, runny nose. Guaranteed not to rip, run or snag...

The actual Dropbox app has a photo upload feature that does a great job. Most of the time, if I am on WiFi, I can't delete a new pic before it gets sync'ed to dropbox. I shouldn't say sync'ed, it only uploads, it doesn't sync. The dropbox app may be the solution to your problem.
