ES File Explorer Login Problem

v1gor

Lurker
Hi all,
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 phone.
I setup ex file explorer to my phone and i can see my desktop computer.
When i click to ip address (my comp) the program give this message "login failed, do you want try new username and password?"
Witch username and password is it?

I use basic Username and password on my Windows 7 OS.

Thanks...

On ES's LAN don't use 'Scan' but use 'Server' and then set up it with your Wondows's user name and password for your PC's share.

EDIT: If "Windows basic user name and password" means not a password then you have to set a password in Windows.

You can use scan, it will find every computer on your network and you choose the one(s) you want to access.

I get as far as opening the PC and see all the shared folders but clicking the folder I want to open prompte a login failure message. I have disabled the username/password for homegroup. Any suggestions? I use a Note 10.1 and Galaxy S3.

On PC you might try to enable these folders (with its sub folders) for all users.

Most times access failure is a Windows issue ;)

I had the same problem, this is what worked for me: Right click the folder you want to access and select "Share with/Specific People" then a window "File Sharing" pops out. In there Write: "Everyone" or click in the 'down arrow' next to "Add" and select "Everyone" if is there. Press "Add" Select the Permission Level in the box below and click "Share". After doing that I can see and use the files in the folders I selected. You don't have to use any usernames or passwords just Scan for servers in LAN on the ES File App. If you have any problems reply back, my settings in the "Network and Sharing Center" in windows are "On" on everything except "Password Protected Sharing", hope it helps, good luck.
