ES file manager problem for secure folders

I have a number of users/folders on a readynas fileserver which I access via laptops and smart TVs and media players around the house. Some fileserver users are password protected some are not.

Using ES file manager on my android tablet I can access all users folders BUT those users that are password protected are so slow as to make it unusable. Each folder hierarchy is very slow to load and files are very slow to load up. Non password protected users/folders (ie: unanimous) load up fast. Can anyone explain why and is there a solution.

Best to fire off an email to the dev as they would not only have the best understanding of what is happening but can also learn more from the issue you are having.

Shooting from the hip all I can offer is the assumption that it is having issues with the protocol used to protect passworded directories.
