eSIM setup?

Anyone got the Pixel 2 work with a eSIM?

Yesterday I could download the eSIM manager (it wasn't available in Germany before), but that app doesn't seems to do anything?

I've a QR code for my eSIM ready to go, but can't find a way using it.

Anyone was more successful?

If I recall correctly, I think this is only working with project fi right now. I'm not sure that it works with other carriers yet.

That's stupid. If the functionality is there why limit it? I doubt it would be any kind of challenge for Google.

I don't know that it's necessarily Google. It might be carrier related. I just thought I remembered reading something that said for now it's fi only. I'll see if I can find any more information.

I think this is the article I read. And it sounds like it's up to your carrier to adopt the technology.

Like I said I have a eSIM from my provider ready to go, but there is no place I can add it within my Pixel 2. I'll try the support of my provider.
