So I have taken a few videos with my S3 and it seems to use up an average of 2 megabytes for every 1 second of video. These are the video settings that I am using that I believe will effect the file size of the video.
Flash: Off
Recording mode: Normal
Exposure value: 0
Effects: None
Resolution: 1920x1080
White Balance: Auto
Video Quality: Superfine
SD card total space: 29.71GB
SD card available space: 22.23GB
Since there is 1024MB in 1GB, that means I have enough space to record about 190 minutes of video. Anyone see any flaw in my calculations?
Questions
P.S. I just want to say that I LOVE this freakin' phone!!!!
Edit: I think I messed up my calculation. Edited the estimate.

Questions
- What settings do you use to record video?
- How many KB or MB does a second of video eat up for you using your settings?
- Is there a way to take a NON-HD video? (not that I could find a reason to)
- Have you ever taken a video in a windy area? If so, how did the S3 handle (filter out) wind noise? I know on my previous phone (HTC Thunderbolt) it was a major issue.
- If I were to take five 60-second long videos using that same settings, could the size of the videos vary depending on what I'm recording? In other words, can the video that I'm capturing have a great effect on the file size of the video itself? Maybe recording a still landscape vs. recording a basketball game.
