Ethernet Adapters

Okay, I would like to know if usb-ethernet adapters work with USB OTG with galaxy s3. Ones such as this :
Max Value USB 2.0 10/100 Ethernet Adapter on Amazon.co.uk

Although on a friends tablet (ICS 4.0.2) I found a setting "Ethernet", however on the GS3 I don't have such a setting.

..Do I need to change my phone to get this to work, etc rooting, installing drivers?

I just tried my Dlink USB wifi modem and the OTG cable with no luck. Light on modem didn't even light up

I needed it for a cable only hotel abroad but seems like it doesn't work. Found a new method that is to use connectify and broadcast a wifi signal.
