EURO 2016

It was international Joe Allan appreciation day a couple of days ago (sorry if you missed it)

Certainly Joe Allan is the best performing Liverpool player on the tournament so far...

Can anyone tell me what the ref on the touch line's job really is. All he seems to do is squat down when players approach the goal.
If it's to judge whether the ball crosses over the goal line, do they not have "Goal line technology" to accurately determine this?

I can't say I've ever really noticed him before :D a bloke behind the goal?
Probably just like everything else, going unnecessarily overboard on administration...

He's on the touch line at the side of the goal. There's one at each end of the pitch. Thing is, I think part of his job is to spot fouls and help with penalty decisions, but I've seen a couple of times that a foul has happened a few feet away, blatant penalty, yet the guy didn't see it.
As you say, unnecessary administration. Probably an EU rule :)

Now THAT'S a fan! :D

My mate got 20:1 odds, I'm pretty tempted to take the 6:1 offered now, I really can't believe it. Although I'm not too confident on our 6 nations team with Englands line up now (I'm much more rugby guy over football). SO I think this may be the year England take the rugby and we take the football
