I was trying to say hello & mentioned the 3 devices I have, but whatever I say seems to contravene the system. I cut it down to 2 sentences but I still get the message below. So I don't know what I have said wrong & how many posts I have to make before I can converse normally:D

As a new user you cannot yet post links or images. When you reach the required number of posts this filter will be lifted. This is an anti-spam measure, we apologize for any inconvenience.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums! :)

You must have had a link in your original post. As of your first post, that restriction is lifted. The only other restriction is a signature, which will work after 25 posts.

Hello & thanks.

I'm a bit puzzled there were no links or rude words etc, I mentioned the 3 devices I had & what I used them for in my hobby (restoring military vehicles & collecting Army manuals)

I'm only too conscious of spam, I have a hobby website & moderate two forums, but made no mention of them.

Could have been simply an unfortunate coincidence in a certain compination of characters picked up by the filters. If you have any future difficulties with that message, let me know and I'll contact the site admin about it for you.

Ok thanks I'm just going to have another go.

Oh I have just previewed it & no red message. So here goes with what I said originally.

I have a HTC Desire & my wife has a HTC Wildfire, on the strength of the Android system have just got a Viewpad 7.

I restore military vehicles & I got the Viewpad to help me check whether any spare parts I see for sale is for my vehicles as one parts book is 310 pages of pdf. It took ages to look through the parts book on the phone the Viewpad makes it much easier.

I also collect British Army manuals. I have several thousand & can't remember all the titles, so I don't want to buy the same book again. So up until now I have a thick A4 book that I would check before buying.

The problem was that I would have to reprint the various lists on a regular basis to try to keep up to date with the stock. I was put off with the weight of the Viewpad until I realised it was almost half the weight of the A4 book I was carrying around!

The other advantage was to have some albums of vehicles on the Viewpad. The trouble is that it takes a long time to view any as whatever album I want to view the machine wants to load all the pictures. Anyway that is a support question so I better post that in the correct place, once I've found my way around:D

Welcome aboard. A fascinating use of your Android devices. Congrats on getting your original message posted.. sorry about that. I see nothing wrong with your message. The filters must have been having a bad day. In any event, welcome to AF and I hope you can use the information/support here to better your Android experience. Thanks for joining our ranks.

Welcome to the forums!

Your restoration work sounds cool... I'd love to do something like that, but I'm no good when it comes to working on vehicles!

Glad you're liking the Android system... pretty good really! You may want to check out the following sub-forums for info on getting the most out of your devices from other users:

Hope you find this place useful and thanks again for joining!!

Ok thanks no harm done. The other thing I like is that I can use xls files & search part numbers & my book collection using various key searches.

One of my hobbies is metal detecting, but I did try an app for that on the phone. But that would 'find' metal in thin air yet was unable to detect my radiator.

Anyway I'm trying to settle in. I have posted my query about the slow gallery loading & even answered a query someone had posted;)
