Evernote Equivalent...

Newbie
Hello all, I have Evernote loaded on my Sammy S3 & 10.1, I wish to have it operational when not connected to the internet. I can get that functionality through 'monthly' subscription, which I do not want. I do not mind paying an upfront fee, but not monthly.

My question, after exhausting a search, is there a note program which allows off-line access or use of the program when not connected?

Evernote is great, to be sure, but I rather pay an upfront fee to purchase the program and not lease it as such.

TIA for your help - bo1953

Depends on what features you want. You already have SNotes on your devices, is that not useable for you? It syncs to Google Drive.

I am not sure if Google Keep its accessible offline.

I just tested it in airplane mode - I was able to create a note, which saved and I was able to access it both while still in airplane mode and once reconnected to the internet. I was also able to access all previously saved notes while in airplane mode.

However, it is a simple app, it does not have the formatting options that Evernote has.

google Keep is great for its simplicity. If it can handle all that you need you would love it.

It works offline. It syncs through google drive so you can also edit via any browser. You can use the mic off your homescreen to simply say "note......" and create a note. It does checklist, notes, photo and audio. Color coding. And has lockscreen widgets if you are running 4.2+

I use Evernote, and love it, but also find Color Note very useful. It works offline, it syncs, it's free (although I'm wracked with guilt for not having contributed or bought the pro version, yet).

Personally I like Microsft's OneNote better than Evernote if I want to access notes on different devices.

If if is just a note to be on my phone though - I use ColorNotes.
