Evernote vs OneNote

Any comments on choosing between the two? So far, they appear to be similar and my top line review of the free versions is as follows:

Evernote:
Pro: better web interface, better integration with Skitch (Evernote annotation product) and I can actually find the photo files of the photos in my notes
Con: 60MB limit per month. no password without premium

OneNote:
Pro: no data limit (limit is number of notes)
Con: Can't find the photos I take with OneNote and (while efficient) the web sync interface with SkyDrive is a little clunky

On a PC, OneNote for desktop eats Evernote for desktop left and right. And well, Microsoft kept its better OneNote features for its own Windows Phone and Tablets, which run desktop grade OneNote. The Android devices get a severely limited version. You'd be more like to get better results on Evernote on Android.

I like Evernote on my phone and since I use Linux, There is a port for the linux desktop, Nevernote. I love having this program, it helps keep me organized.

I never tried Onenote and I assume no desktop version for Linux.

OneNote 2007 does not sync with skydrive.
I use only 2007, 2010 is bad.
Hence, EverNote is only option for me.

Depends on the user. For me 2010>2007 any day. And you can sync OneNote2007 to skydrive. Install skydrive on your PC, then keep the onenote files in that folder.

I agree 2010 is better than 2007.

Personally I tried Evernote but could never get use to using it. Something about the UI just didn't work for me (I think it was that I have to manually sync my notes on the PC?).

Overall I would say if you have OneNote on your PC then that is the way to go. If not then Evernote is also a fine product (even if I don't care for it).

I use Evernote on my PC, phone and tablet (when I had one). I did try OneNote, but could never get used to it. I find Evernote helpful and easy to use. That being said, I guess the main thing is what one is used to. Both are quite similar in features etc. But, as someone pointed out above, Evernote has the space limit unless one opts to pay for more. On the other hand, I am still dependent on Android - phone and tab (I'll be getting the Nexus 10 in 11 days from today!) - so, Evernote makes a little more sense for me. The day I switch to Win 8 then I will do so across my devices. At that point I guess I will be converting to OneNote. Would be stupid not to, I suppose.

This. I wish MS didn't gimp OneNote for Android :( I have Evernote on my GS3 and it is by no means a bad option (I use it quite a bit), but OneNote is capable of so much more on Windows devices. I would recommend Evernote on Android.

Hey man, I wish that were the case. I'm a big OneNote fan and Evernote just isn't as simple for me. However, I have 2007 on my work computer (and 2010 at my home PC which works great with SkyDrive), and 2007 does not seem to work with SkyDrive at all. If you install SkyDrive on the PC, the files that it syncs are internet shortcuts, not actual files, so OneNote 2007 has no clue what to do with them. Is there an actual way for this to work? The only workaround I've found to use OneNote on my work PC is to use the Web App.

I've tried both, but Evernote is the one I just keep going back to. I like the user interface better and that helps with its ease of use. I'd like to see the 60mb limit raised, but we'll have to wait and see on that.

When you make a new notebook on OneNote, set it to save in the SKyDrive folder.
