Root Everyone have these problems with Super Clean 2.9.2?

I can't figure out if I'm the only one with these problems or if these things were modified in the latest SC and everyone has them.

First off: The camera's power button mod, where when using camera, when the power button is pressed, it takes a picture, doesn't work. Was this feature removed? Or just doesn't work for me?

My phone's power button, when I use it to lock the screen, will randomly snap a screenshot. And I can never get it to take a screen shot when I want, seems to just work randomly.

Tethering doesn't work with Wireless Tether. Is this feature just complete removed and doesn't work for anyone?

Big problem: The screen doesn't turn itself off randomly. For example, when a phone or txt comes in, the screen stays on until I manually hit the lock button (power button). Or any notification for that matter, like if I plug it in to charge, and the phone notifies me that its fully charged, the screen will stay on until I lock the phone. which sucks cause i'm usually asleep when this happens and I've had serious burn in problems already.

That's all I can think of right now, but I know I have a few more random problems I'll post on here later.

If anyone can confirm or deny that you have these same problems on your SuperClean 2.9.2, that would really help me out. Or this could just be problems with my phone only.

I see this occasionally as well.

I believe this was removed, mine shows a lock icon on the camera screen when pushed.

This depends on which kernal you are running, don't quote me but I think this is only available on EB16 and EC10.

This is something random I have seen on 2.9.1 and 2.9.2. I have recently flashed jt's source kernal and have not seen this as of yet.

I'm glad you posted this cause I had several of these issues as well. The most annoying thing was the random screencapture function... It would come out of nowhere and would simply stick around for a few minutes until it regained normal power on and off functions.

I just flashed jt's ec10 kernels today so I wonder if that will help to any extent.

As for the display/idling issue... I had this as well, and I've read soo many issues with it but for me, when i checked the display settings, the default timout period was set to the max (10 minutes!).... so... once i moved it back to respectable 30 seconds, it functioned normally. I wonder if this is just me or if you happen to have the same issue.
 
im so glad you posted that reply, i was about to wipe everything and start from scratch.

I worship JT and Adryn, so don't take this as whining or bitching, but I don't understand how or why things seem broken now, but worked amazing 3-4 releases ago.

BTW, I also just flashed JT's UC Voodoo EC10 Kernal, working like a dream so far.
 
so nunyazz, you haven't had any of these problems? I want to confirm, cause if you don't, I'm going to wipe everything and start from scratch. I really love Adryn's work, and want it working at intended quality.
 
Nope, no issues. Other than the power button/camera shuttle issue. But that option was removed from the rom.

I doubt the wipe, and starting from scratch will fix all those problems. I was having problems with every version of superclean so far up through 2.8 with random freezing of the phone where i had to do a bat pull or just random resets of the phone by itself. So before I put on 2.9, I odin'd the restore for EB01 to have a clean slate. Then I odin'd CWM. Wiped Data/Cache, flashed SC 2.9, and then 2.91 patch. No major improvement. My phone still freezes/resets itself daily. I have the random screen capture occur. I'm not sure about the screen never turning off.

I'm debating going to 2.92, and think I need to try JT's new kernel also, but it sucks that some phones aren't as stable.
 
It is odd that it affects some phones and not others.

I had a problem with 2.9 stopping the launcher (ADW Ex) and everytime I closed a program I had a blank launcher for a few seconds, until I gave the persistent option to ADW Ex, to prevent task killers from killing it, and havent had a problem at all with 2.9.2 although I would like the power button camera shutter added back in.

I did have a problem with 2.9 also and PDAnet, kept getting shut off when the phone went to sleep, but that too has been resolved in 2,9.2...and the super undervolt kernel I am running happy
 
Only problem I have is the gallery. I delete pictures and they go away but when I revisit the gallery it's there again but the resolution is really bad. real blury.

This happens to me quite a bit and it's super annoying. I think it happens when I press the power button and I'm inadvertently pushing the volume up/down. More annoying than the screen shots is that it locks up my power button for a period of time - can't power off, can't turn off screen.

Is there a way to disable the screen capture service? I try killing it from time to time but it seems to always turn itself back on.
 
I'm running the rooted stock EB01 so obviously I don't the same issues you all do, but the random screen capture thun happens all the time. I get phantom back key presses constantly. I'll be reading something on a web page and all of a sudden, it's going back a page. I've had apps spontaneously shut down on me. It's really irritating.
 
You can get the "power button to take a picture" mod back by flashing this.

I am having the screen will not turn off sometimes issue as well.

SC 2.9.2 with JT's EC10 kernel.

Rename or delete ScreenCaptureService.apk in /system/app. mastamoon said that in the SC thread at XDA, so I take no credit.
 
I am new to rooting and am running EB01 with Superclean. So far I have had only 2 problems. Web browsing,sometimes sites are shown as down, when on my pc they are fine...this one bothers me alot.
I also am lost on running themes with this kernal/rom. It may not be designed for them, I am not sure.But I cannot get ADW launcher to run on this build and allow me to change icons/themes. I almost forgot I cannot reboot into CWM but instead get the voodoo screen...weird. Roots fine, I see CWM on my sdcard, just wont go to the CWM reboot. Ive tried the soft key combo, both volumes plus power, let samsung come up twice and release ...no luck. Can anyone help a lost n00b please?
 
I could be wrong, but it sounds like you simply downloaded the voodoo version of SuperClean. There's always two versions to choose from with each new release.
 
What's the best way to get to and rename the file ScreenCaptureService.apk?

Is there a free app that's good with system file management?
