I am having some serious problems with my EVO 4G and I'm wondering if anyone can help me before I try my luck with Sprint tech support.
In decreasing order of importance:
1. My google accounts aren't syncing. Refreshing in Gmail and Calendar (or business calendar) does nothing at all, not even the arrowy circle in the top bar or anything. Nor does hitting "Sync now" in Settings>Accounts and Sync>Google. No results, no activity, no nothing. Very bad, especially for the calendar!
2. App updates fail. An update for a handful of apps showed up a few days ago (by the way, should my market have automatically updated itself to a new version a month or two ago?) and all of them worked except Docs and Facebook, and now those two plus Foursquare and Ultimate Guitar Tabs (i.e., all 4 apps that have an available update) are failing every time.
3. Homescreen direct dial shortcuts don't work. They know they are "clicked" but don't go anywhere. I deleted one and put it back in case the link to the contact somehow got broken, and it worked, but only the first time.
4. The top few millimeters of my screen don't sense touch. So I can't bring down the notification bar in the slick way I'm supposed to in portrait mode. I of course have gotten totally used to using Menu>Notifications, but it would be nice for that to work. Though I know it's probably water damage or some other inexcusable offense. (Hard reset hasn't fixed this one. Haven't tried hard reset on the other problems.)
By the way, I've recently been getting a lot of "Low Disk Storage" messages. I wouldn't call this a problem (although I recently cleared up a bit and it's not going away) since I suppose there is only so much room left. But the point is that I've been uninstalling a number of things and clearing data on others. I would never uninstall anything that wasn't very clearly not very important (not that it would let me) but I can't guarantee I was as good about the data. I did clear Gmail's data, but that was after it stopped syncing. It then did an initial load correctly but didn't sync after that.
