Evo-esque phone coming to Verizon!

Frankly, does it really matter what's the name of the device? A name does not make a device better or worse. Based on the high-end finish and look, we are all certain that this new device will be packed with the latest and greatest technologies from HTC.

The only question we need to ask is that: is it really a device coming to Verizon? I am not seeing any carrier logo on the device.

Almost all phones that are leaked early on have no logos on them, just the manufacturer logo, but we have to assume that whoever leaked this knows it is a verizon-bound phone, he must have reason to say it is vzw bound? Hopefully we get some more info, quite frankly i think i will go with the droid x, yes it is not as sexy as this phone, but motorola is much more reliable than HTC in my opinion.

the engadget article said this was for Verizon so if that is true then its not Evo2... and there is a charge port on it (if you look on the right side of the phone where its laying face down)... unless thats an HDMI... its hard to tell...

I think you were right the first time. After looking at the EVO for comparison, I think the shape of the port on the new phone looks more like the micro-USB than the micro-HDMI.

Anymore news on this bad boy? Like new specs about a processor or anything? I'm praying it has the new qualcomm 1.5 ghz, but who knows.. if it doesn't I think I'll have to wait for Dual-cores and pass on it.

1.5ghz processors are coming in 2011, and 1.2ghz snapdragons are coming in Q1, HTC uses snapdragon, so i doubt that.

"Hey -- what's this? Well, from the looks of it, it's a new, as-yet-unnamed HTC device. There is perilously little info available about the mystery mobile, but it appears to boast an 8 megapixel camera with a flash plus a front-facing camera, a 4.3-inch screen, a headphone jack and a kickstand. It also appears that it's going to boast HTC's own Sense UI. This falls in line with what we've heard about Verizon's Android-heavy fall launch this year, so we would not be surprised to see this device make an appearance. Furthermore, we could go out on a limb and guess that it's possible this is the Merge mentioned in that lineup, which supposedly boasts a 1GHz processor. That's all there is to the story right now but we're going to stay up late tonight to be on the lookout for further information on this one. One more photo below and hit up the source for the rest."

AWESOME!!! The concern (more of an observation) is it looks little fat (kinda of like the HTC Touch Pro2). I have the Eris and use an Otterbox protective case which makes the phone look about as big as this one w/out a case. I can't imagine how big a protective case would make this phone look.
