EVO:EVO Shift :: Thunderbolt:Future Phone?

I was reading today about the HTC EVO Shift 4G on Sprint and I didn't realize until now that it is a new phone, essentially a smaller version of the EVO. I'm a little behind, because as a Verizon customer/Incredible owner, I don't really follow what HTC is doing with Sprint.

When you consider the similarity of the physical dimensions and appearance of the original EVO vis-

Actually its called the Merge, and we were supposed to see it a long time ago.

My understanding was that the Merge is a slider, which wouldn't really qualify it as a Shift equivalent or a smaller version of the Tbolt. Is this not correct?

The Shift is also a slider. They are essentially the same phone.

Ah, I didn't realize that the Shift was a slider. Interesting. Well, it appears that there are no current plans for the Merge to be 4G, at least reported in the information that is out there, so that would disqualify my interest for the time being.

I read a story somewhere (can't find it now) the Thunderbolt is supposed to come out with a twin right behind it... not sure if it's a GSM twin. Either way, Engadget also posted that Incredible S just hit the Verizon system. So multiple cool phones are going to come out in March.
