I watched 2 YouTube videos (a couple minutes each) and during the 2nd video, my phone got extremely warm - near the top of the phone (the glossy area).

Anyone else? Should I return the phone (i don't wanna...lol)

no, wait until you are on a phone call thats about 30 minutes and you are in a fringe area. the phone will get even warmer!

the phone is so thin there is no where for the heat to go, so the entire phone its a heat sink.

do not worry at all about this. all phones get warm when they are using a constant data session (on a call, watching online video, skype, etc etc and so forth...)

Looking at this defender case, there's not allot of room for heat to escape. There's maybe a 1/4" strip where the kickstand is and that's about it. It's sealed up pretty well. During pretty extreme use, everything feels very cool to the touch.

I wonder if there's any life degradation with the increase in heat??

Mine has gotten alittle warm also near the top I've been seeing more and more people mention it...so it seems pretty common and most likely normal..as marc mentioned

Yep, it heats up. It can get really hot sometimes too but even under a mild load, I will notice heat spilling out around the camera. Sometimes it is even a little uncomfortable to hold. My old Evo 4G used to get hot too under considerable load. Often that was my reminder that some huge app was running in the background. My pocket would feel really warm, I would pull out my phone and my battery would be almost dead and facebook would be running for some reason.
