Help EVO Touchscreen Flakey

Since yesterday, my touchscreen has gotten very flakey. Sometimes it is unresponsive, sometimes it responds on it's own and the screen acts like it is getting pushed but isn't. There seems to be a particular area about 2/3 the way up the screen that is the culprit area.

I have reset the phone (not factory) and removed my invisishield to no effect. I have re-calibrated, which also did not fix the issue.


Coincidentally, this started happening shortly after the maintenance update.

I am considering a factory reset but would prefer not to.

Any thoughts?

try one of the multi touch apps in the market to see if it really is picking up phantom touches.

sounds like a hardware problem but a factory reset may cure it.

Thanks. I did a factory reset and it did not help. The issue progressively got worse from when it first started. Took it in today and they are replacing the touchscreen.

Hopefully that takes care of the issue.
