Exchage Activesynch Slowing Computer

Today is my first day at work with an Android phone. My PC is unusually slow, so I am wondering if Activesync with the exchange server in the office is causing a problem. I am also synching to GMail. Any thoughts appreciated. I have shut off my phone for now.
