Help Exchange GAL: Global Address List access

Does any one have a favorite app for this? Accessing work/exchange accessing the global address list. Coming from a Windows 6.5 phone, I see the Androids don't have the access built in.

I see there is Swift Contacts in the market store. There aren't many choices out there. Has anyone used it or others?

The threads here are a year or so older, so I wonder if there is anything better/new for ICS?

Thanks!

OK, so it does seem to find the email on the GAL. I put in names I know I don't have in my personal contacts list, and it would find that person's email, it takes a beat or 2 but it would find it. But no other information. If you press and hold, it gives you the chance to copy email.

So do other apps enable you to capture more info? Anyone know?

I am not having any issues accessing the GAL through the stock email program.

However, I find that Touchdown works extremely well at Enterprise syncing. Not cheap at $20.00 though.

I'm interested in this too. I just got a Nexus and would love if I could get my GAL to sync with my phone on a contacts level so I could see who's calling me from work.

GAL remote lookup works right out of the box with the stock ICS email client. Start a new email and begin typing the name of a person in your GAL. It will automatically perform a remote lookup as you're typing. For example, type Steve and wait a couple of seconds for it to return all the Steves in your GAL. It works similar to how a blackberry does remote lookup, except it's automatic with the ICS email client.

If you're talking about syncing the *entire* GAL to your contacts list in your phone, I don't see any way to do this with what comes stock.
