Exchange Native Email Client Slow and Interface

colemac

Newbie
Hello,

I am having issues with the native email client for exchange. It is extremly slow and I am not a fan of the interface. For instance going from email to email and opening the inbox. I was wondering if there were changes I could make or perhaps a third party client for exchange and email.

thanks,

I have a Verizon GS3 and have been experiencing slowness as well using the exchange account profile. Having a galaxy nexus and an S3 side by said set up identically with the same email account the Nexus always receives email immediately while the S3 doesn't about 30% of the time. It can take the S3 an hour and sometimes it doesn't work until I open the email app and it syncs at that time. In addition the outgoing name is defaulting to a name.name in lowercase format it looks unprofessional. I called Verizon and they said it must be a Microsoft or Samsung issue. Highly frustrating.

I find the email client itself very slow to load as well. Are other people experiencing this issue?

Does anyone have good alternative mail clients to try?

True - and I agree the native email app sucks. Not sure what to do about it though, except complain to Samsung and hope they can push out an update that will fix it.

eta - when I first got my droid X the native email app was bad and if you filed a formal complaint with them detailing your issues, Moto provided a Touchdown license so you could use it instead. Samsung should step up and do the same.

absolutely, do you want to get that rolling since you already done it before and say I have a list of S3 users that will line up and want this?

Hehe, I'm not too much of an activist.... I do hope enough people complain though that they do something. If I find a place to bitch (their corporate website?), I'll let you know.

Sounds good keep me posted. Should we just call Samsung 1-800 number?

So I have a touchdown license so I installed it on my s3. The native client is just as fast in a day of use. The reason I stopped using ttouchdown before was the contacts integration was not as fluid if you used td. I found on my gnex the native email was great. On my s3 it is very good for me as well. I'm connected to my company exchange 2010 systems.

As long as I have had my S3 I've always had issue with the email client loading my exchange account email very slowly but I may have found a solution.

Go to your EMAIL ACCOUNT SETTINGS -> then select SYNC SETTINGS -> then select SIZE TO RETRIEVE -> here, in the past, I've tried a few different sizes to retrieve (10kb - 100kb, etc) but the AUTOMATIC selection seems to work best and now my emails all are loading almost instantly. Hope this helps!
