How do I exit the bootloader menu without changing anything on my Verizon htc rhyme? My pnone wouldn't update and even though the battery is officially NOT removable it was the recommended official fix. All I managed to do is remove the cover. After I replaced it and tried to restart my phone it went to this menu which I have since learned is the bootloader. I just wanted to get my phone to retry a failed download(it only updates automatically) and all the info I could find on the bootloader has both confused and paralyzed me. I don't dare touch anything for fear all my info will erase. I am here accidentally and all I want is out!! PLEASE HELP!

If you can't see a reboot option in the menu, select "fastboot", which will give you a different menu that does have the reboot option (ie it will be in one or the other menu).

However, the phone going straight to bootloader is a bad sign. So if all that happens is you end up back in the bootloader, try selecting recovery. You get a black screen with a red triangle, then use volume up + power to bring up a menu and select the option to wipe cache (just erase cache, not a factory reset or erase storage).

You can always force a reboot by pressing and holding the power button. This is the equivalent of removing the battery on these phones.

If none of that works you may need to reflash the phone. If it comes to that, post again, perhaps better in the main forum, and someone will be able to talk you through doing it.

Good luck!
