Hi to all,
I’m looking for an APP that allows me to keep track of expenses simply taking the photo of the receipt. The APP should not only record the total amount paid but also (using OCR) the details of the receipt. It should store every single position according to the categories and subcategories.
For example if I have the following receipt of the supermarket:
AAAA supermarket
description price quantity sum
milk €1 2x € 2
beef € 15.5 1x € 15.5
Screwdriver € 2 1x € 2
Total € 19.5
Paid Mastercard .......
After taking the picture of the receipt the APP automatically detects the various positions. If it does not find the text already saved in any category, it asks me in which category/subcategory it has to assign the detected text. For example, if the milk text is not yet stored, it will ask me in which category to save the milk. I will tell him dairy products (if it exists) if not I create a new sub-category in the food category.
If instead the text "beef" already exist, it saves directly the amount in the appropriate subcategory.
And so on for all other positions. Clearly at the beginning I must indicate for each text the appropriate category / sub-category. Later, the more the APP learns the less I need to introduce new text.
Clearly each company has a different format of receipt so at the beginning there will be a learning phase but then detected the company the APP will also know the format of how and where the data are written on the receipt and therefore can directly recognize all fields.
Interesting feature would be also if it recognized where the goods were purchased and the method of payment.
Then produce the usual graphs and maybe save everything in the cloud.
I already looked at Numreceip and SmartReceipt APPS but they seem to me that I have to do everything manually or am I wrong?
Maybe someone knows an APP that is right for me or am I asking something too complicated?
