Root Explain some things for me about boot strap?

So i'm looking into getting cwm on my razr and was gonna use this to get it on there

But could somebody explain how it works and what it means when I need to go back stock for ics

If you only install CWM, I do not hink you need to do anything before you get ICS.

If you freeze any apps or remove system apps, then, you will need to restore them to stock , but nothing to do about CWM.

CWM and boot strap work the same way. You have nothing to worry about.

These two let you use a custom recovery mode (like BIOS on a PC) on you phone and let you back the whole phone up - includig system settings, accounts, apps etc. Using this method your phone can be easily restored to a previous state - like using Windows restore feature - in a few steps.

Here's another one: I'm rooted and unsure whether I have CWM or not. Don't think I'm Bootstrapped. Just rooting, does that give you CWM or is that a seperate DL? I am able to load updates and get to recovery but I'd like to BU my ROMS so I can try the latest whatever, i.e. ICS builds and get back to my reg driver ROM if need be. If I DL Bootstrap, does that have CWM with it or is it a seperate DL??

I actually prefer Safestrap. Bootstrap works fine but you have an added layer of protection with Safestrap.
