Ext. SD Card Use

nyproud

Lurker
Gentlemen: Being a nOObie, who just learned to root and Flash a new ROM (Phoenix 2.0) on my 6-month old Cap., I am trying to find out if it is possible to copy/move user apps onto my ext. SD card, and run them. Reason you ask...? My wife bought me a 32gig SDHC for my Cap. for Christmas (among other things) and I see no reason to let all that memory space go to waste just sitting there. I mean, what else could one do with all memory??

Thank you for any assistance you can provide...Regards, Chuck

Copying apps to the sd card is a froyo only feature. I assume you rom is froyo. I don't use froyo so i'm not 100% sure, but i think you can go to setting > applications > manage applications, and there when you click an application, it will say move to sd card. I think every app isn't compatible with this and developers may have not all updated all of your apps with this feature.

You could probably fit your whole music library on there. You might not be interested in that if you're not a music fanatic and have tons of music. I just bought a 16gb card to replace my 8gb card because both my internal and external sd cards are nearly full due to so much music.
