Help extend screen timeout

I know it will kill my battery but how do I extend the screen timeout for my Lollipop S5 beyond 10 minutes?

I use MacroDroid for a lot of chores. Depend on it to keep my battery life extended primarily by always turning off the radios when the screen goes to sleep.

I am going to assume you are playing a game, or watching a video?

Let's assume that whatever it is, it involves an application. You are going to need the Premium version of MacroDroid but the price is very reasonable so just do it.

Okay, 1st macro:

Trigger: Application Launched

This will require you to specify "launched/closed", and then it will ask for the specific application.

I chose BBC News so I could walk this thru. You pick your own app. Ya gotta press OK :)

Actions: Keep Device Awake and press okay :)
This will ask for more options that you will have to decide on, Screen ON (natch), Until ? Disabled/Fixed Time​

I selected "Until Disabled" and pressed that magic OK button :)

Now press the Right Arrow at the top of the screen to leave Add Actions.

Press the Right Arrow again to skip Add Constraints.

Enter a name for this Macro, I called it Read BBC News. It has to make sense to you, not me.

Press that magic OK button again and you are done :)

Now, open up BBC News and you should be able to read all day long until you back out of that application.



Now, all of this said, why do you need it? I have never used my phone for more than a few minutes w/o touching the screen at some point. That always resets the 10 minute timer…. And 10 minutes is what I use. Maybe you have a dash mounted app in your car and it does not have a Keep Awake feature?

I use CoPilot USA mapping and it has a Keep Device Awake feature built in.
