Extended batteries and extended battery cases

I have not seen a thread revolving around Extended batteries with the Extended Battery Cases. Just wanted to keep and active list going to those interested in these items as much as I am... Please post your experiences with both the batteries and cases. I know some people will think the extended cases may be a bit bulky ect - but there are a lot of us that like our phones this way and have become accustomed to the size as well as the added battery life. Please feel free to add on to this post with any new products out there.

Thanks!

You and me both. Hyperion makes a Rubber/silicon case with honeycomb grip for the extended battery - just doesnt feel very like it will protect very much.. I guess it is better than nothing I suppose.

For my s3 I got an extended battery right away but with my note2 the stock battery is awesome I don't think I will need one. Especially since the extended batteries add bulk.

The stock battery last me so many hours that it was a no-brainer to buy another one as not to add bulk to the phone. I don't think anyone has an extended battery yet available for this phone.

I have seen both 6200 and 6800mah batteries for sale but a bit too cheap so not overly confident about quality.

My bad. Didn't realize extendeds were available. I see they don't have a slim profile. I don't want the extra bulk.

I ordered the 4350 mAh battery on ebay yesterday. supposedly can use same back cover. First post so won't let me post the link.

Those look tempting. I don't want a battery that makes me use a different back cover. But don't you think that if samsung could put a higher capacity battery in the same form factor, wouldn't they?

I have always been led to believe that if the battery is not physically any bigger then it wont be of a higher mah. I saw loads of this when the dhd came out and with sellers quoting stupid figures for a battery the same size and they were never any better than stock.

I wonder if these extended batteries are the correct batteries for the specific carrier model phone it's going to be used in.
Also does it come with the correct battery door.
Sprint, TMo, AT&T, NFC is underneath the battery cover.
Verizon and US Cellular, NFC is in the battery itself.

Yeah, if you can use the same back cover the capacity isn't any higher than the stock battery. I doubt these Chinese sellers on eBay stumbled upon some new battery technology and decided to sell these new batteries at half the price of regular ones.

You can buy great extended batteries for the S3 off amazon for about the same price as those, so I would figure the N2 ones should be a little more expensive.

Seidio is solid for extended batteries. They REALLY don't add too much form factor either. Literally my Galaxy Nexus has one, and if I didn't put their Surface case on the phone it'd be super slim still. These phones ARE so slim they can use a little heft.

Battery makers often do squeeze in more juice into same physical form factor, like with laptop batteries, and Amazon already lists several 3500mAh batteries for Note 2. Anyway, I'll see soon enough whether the battery I bought has the capacity as advertised.

The ones that promise the most deliver the least.

I've bought and tested a ton of batteries for the GS3, and standard batteries for the GN2, and I have tested one extended battery and have another on the way. I test them with a CBA-IVPro Battery Analyzer. They don't have bias, nor do they have favorites.

4200mAh isn't legit - the highest capacity I've tested is about 3200mAh.

This is the chart of my standard battery tests:

This "7600mAh" battery, amazon asin B00A3NY83Y, claims 7600mAh. It's the battery I call the "Generic Red and Yellow battery." In the chart below, the capacity tested is 6080mAh.

I'm only testing batteries on request (so feel free to request) and any other battery (not necessarily cell phone) that strikes my testing fancy. If you ask for something to be tested, I'll buy, test, and report here on the results.

I bought 2 from a shop in Shenzhen (Gold sticker exactly design same) and sad to say they behaved like stock battery (or maybe slightly worse)... Don't see any improvement so using them as spares only.

i found this on ebay 42000mAh battery. Idk if its legit tho. any body tried it?

longus,

I'm curious, can the CBA-IV Pro Battery Analyzer test something like this? or does the battery actually have to be out.

TS

I can test anything I can charge and discharge. It might require me to buy some connectors or do some soldering or something of the sort, but it's most likely doable. Dismantling or otherwise rendering the device useless for normal use is not an issue for me.

I've tested and officially reviewed the Power-U 5600mAh portable battery charger, and tested but not reviewed the NewTrent 12000mAh portable battery charger, and those have USB outputs @ 5V. The limit is 150 watts.
