Extended battery question

I couldn't find a definitive answer to my question:
if i got a new andida battery 2000mAh for my phone, do i need to root it to use it?
i dont see the connection but i saw somewhere it was written that yes, but i couldn't understand why, or find a better answer.

Thanks :) semus

Well u dont have to root it to use it but if u r rooted u can then use battery calibration app that wipes previous battery data and its good before starting with new battery. But u can still give it a go and dont wory too much, maybe u wont reach 100% usability as u would after calibration but still u should notice slightly better results with bigger batery.

Thanks, ill do that.

anyway, i got an Andida 2000mAh, do you know anything about Andida? are they ok?
from what i could gather, they seem good, but experience can say better, i guess.
