Extending ringtone time before voice mail!

Called Sprint and they have never heard of any codes to put in your phone to extend ringtone time before voicemail. Does anyone know how to do this? I have a HTC Hero phone. I tried the *#61# stuff and that didn't work either. Was Sprint telling me the truth or is there a way to extend the ringtone? Please let me know. Thanks!
