Hello. My Android 4.0 ICS device has internal nand memory declared as SD card (2GB), and external card (16GB) that is seen as /mnt/external_sd.
I did the change in vold.fstab file and swap /mnt/sdcard with /mnt/external_sd and it made strange problems after rebooting device. External card is now detected as NAND FLASH (previous it was description for internal memory).
It is seen correctly when device is started but when I try to format NAND FLASH (16GB) card, device after few moments returns error and external card is no longer usable - can't be mounted and has RAW format. That is until i reboot device. After next start sd card is valid and mounted. Till next format try.
When I left the format option and tried only to remount card (unmount and mount again in settings) the card which has been empty returned with strange files on it (randomly named files). The files has more than GB capacity, for first time all files size was greater even than memory card capacity. I think that modyfing vold.fstab is not enough but I don't have an idea what else. I don't see fstab unix file where it should be all mount points listed.
I didn't have this kind problems when external sdcard was treated as external - format and remount for both cards has worked correctly.

I removed this strange files and get the card full capacity, and now remount option works correctly but I didn't try to format card in device. I am aware that something can break again. Card is working normally now, but I have some strange feeling that it is only temporary. And some day it will just break.
These strane files has appeared in eHomeMediaCenter folder. eHomeMediaCenter is an system app. eHomeMediaCenter folder is on 2GB internal card, but is empty.
