yes it does have the internals... there's an adapter you need and then there made for like the big car mount antenna or roof mounted... my thoughts would be if ur gonna spend money... just buy a cdma booster... works like a repeater in your home... otherwise believe it or not the lol stick on behind battery signal boosters do help a Lil.. i have two on my phone.

there the same connector size as on the virgin mobile 3g stick i was going to try running a wire that laptop wifi adapters use but i think there a lil to big ive tryied a boster/repeter before and it boosted the bars off signal but nothing changed calls or data was better downloads were slower then with out.

Hvent tryied any stickons i hear there great for call signal but such for data
nove do us a favor and remove the lol stick one and test your speed that may be why your getting such low data speeds on every prl

You can find what youd need on sites that sell ham radio gear, and large wifi antennas. The small connection on cellphones is standard, and has a name, but i dont remember what it is ("BNC" keeps coming to mind but i dont think thats right)

I found directional antennas and adapters/cables to connect to you phones ext antenna port. Wasnt exactly cheap, but i guess it worth it if needed. You can also find instructions for building your own antenna.

Edit: iirc, the antenna setup was cheaper than the repeaters... and can be used on more than one carrier, while repeaters are often for a specific carrier only. Plus you get some signal lag with a repeater, while an antenna is pulling directly from the tower.

The type of antenna youd want is called a "yagi". Gotta make sure its for the phones frequency range though.

Repeaters work within a certain frequency, usually dual band, some are quad Band, which will work for all major carriers in the USA. The added bonus to a repeater is, no wire to phone, all are amplified, with pretty good gains, and anyone can use it that has the same frequency range as your repeater. As far as I remember there where only two different ones, gsm, and cdma. And of course the quad Band that does both.
