Help External Hard Drive

Hello, How do I hook up an external hard drive on my OTT TV Box? I want to upload pictures to kodi to change background art. Thanks Lance

I don't know if the box supports OTG. Check with the manufacturer. If it does, the drive can be connected via USB cable.

Should just be able to plug it into one of the USB ports. However the drive must be formatted as FAT32 or exFAT.

Some USB drives come pre-formatted as Windows NTFS, and they have to be reformatted so they can work with Android.

Even if it supports OTG it's unlikely to be able to supply enough power to drive an actual hard drive (as opposed to a flash drive). In which case it's possible if your hard drive can take an external power supply.

OK New question, How do I update my OTT TV 4x CPU 4X GPU to Lollipop 5.0? I could not find the firmware to download. Any suggestions?

I was able to figure out how to get this box hooked up to my external hard drive. I did it through Kodi.

Updates have to be built for the specific device. So unless the manufacturer has made an update you won't be able to. There is no "generic" Android that can be installed on all devices (as with any mobile OS).
