External power supply for my tab

I'll be going on a long plane ride, there aren't any power outlets where i'm seated on the plane. Does anyone know of a very portable power source I can use while flying? My tab is an older version sch i800. Thanks in advance

My advice: change seats. :)

I have an older p100 on Sprint. Similar to your device, I think. It is very picky, when it comes to power sources. First, if the power source isn't at least 2 amps, it's a non-starter. Even still, it's hit-and-miss.

My only success, has been the cigarette lighter plug from Samsung, and a Samsung-branded cable. Option two, is to take the AC adapter along for the ride, and plug it into an AC outlet...that is, if you were seated near one.

I can't think of anything that isn't overly complicated, easy enough to include in your carry-on, and less likely to prompt an inquisition from the TSA. Thank Samsung for making a device that isn't always easy to power externally.

How long is the flight? If you're domestic coast-to-coast, it should last the flight on a full charge. For overseas, you might just have to resort to charging in the terminal, during any layovers you might have.

Wish I had better news. If someone else has other suggestions, I'm all ears. too.

It's coast to coast with a 1 hour layover then another 3 in the air. I'll just put it in airplane mode dim the screen and try not to play too many games. Just use it to read. I know it's very finicky when it comes to charging options, but I wanted either a xoom or tab and the tab was less expensive. Thanks anyway

If the battery is in good shape, then you should have enough power to get you to your destination. Of course, airplane mode is a must. If you're on a flight that offers WiFi (some Delta, US Airways, and AirTran flights, perhaps others), then you should be able to turn on WiFi, while in airplane mode. The battery will still probably last through the flight.
