Root External SD card not available via USB

Hi everyone

I'm running CM 10 (12-4-12 nightly and TWRP), for some time I haven't been able to access my 32gb SD card via USB with either just charge or mass storage mode.

Only the 10gb partition of internal storage, recognized as "HTC Storage", is accessible on my Windows PC when in mass storage mode.

The SD card is recognized in File Manager and other applications on the phone itself just fine.

I tried formatting the internal storage and SD card and there has been no change, the only thing I noticed is that now the internal storage is recognized as sd card 1 and the external is now sd card 2 in File Manager, it used to be the opposite.

Thanks, I'll do a backup, give it a try and report back!

Edit: I gave it a try but now when entering Mass Storage mode I get the loading symbol and it does not connect.

Edit 2: I went ahead and did a restore of my backup and now I'm at least back to where I started, able to access the 10gb of internal storage again.

It seems a number of people had the same problem I experienced in that thread, I was hoping I would be one of the lucky ones that reported that it worked for them.

From what I remember your external SD card should be accessible through a folder called sd-ext ont he internal card.

You can always just copy things via USB to the internal card and then use a file explorer like es file explorer to move them to external once on the phone

Yeah in file explorer go up to root then your SD card is the folder "external_sd". You can always use ES File Explorer to transfer things between computer and phone over WiFi.

I want to thank everyone for their input.

Nothing has worked so far, and now since using the "Swap internal/external links" mod I have a glitch that other's have reported where notification sounds don't play.

Someone at that thread suggested the way to reverse that mod is "Formatting /system in recovery then flash the rom in the same session" how do I format /system in TWRP?

Or is that not possible in TWRP and instead do a Super Wipe?
