External Storage (SD Card) - path: /mnt/sdcard

I have a Galaxy S 4.0 WiFi with no external microSD card installed. Yet, when I look at the User Storage area it states "External Storage (SD Card)" with a path of /mnt/sdcard and a capacity of 5641.9M and available of 5250.0M.

I'm new at this and before I buy a microSD card I want to know what is going on with my device. Can someone explain why it states external storage sd card when I don't have one.

Thanks

Paul

The onboard memory is termed as "internal SD card", while an additional microSD is viewed as "external SD card".

Thanks for the quick response. I could understand if mine said "internal SD card" but it doesn't. It says "External storage sd card". However, I don't have an additional microSD card installed. That's what I can't figure out.
