Root Extracting the rom in .kdz format from GT540

Hi everyone.

I've noticed there are a few people from my country (New Zealand) having trouble using the updaters and such to upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1.

I successfully upgraded today and then wondered if it's at all possible to
extract my rom in .kdz format so that I can upload it for other users to upgrade their phones via the KDZ_FW_UPD program? (Iv'e used it before to reflash my 1.6 rom when the phone started crashing all the time and found it really simple to use)

Secondly, if that is possible, is there any software that you guys know
about that I could use to create my own custom rom?

What I suggest you do is open task manager, and tell it to update. Dont plug you phone in. Wate till the file is exstracted(the same plase as the kdz file) then use task manager to close the PROSSES, then look inside the extracted file. I think it should be a cabinate file.
