Help Extremely high OS data usage

My OS is using a crap ton of data. Over the past week or so it's used almost 7.5gb and I have no clue why it uses so much. I have 10gb of high speed data but the OS uses most of it so I'm left for weeks with slow data which is a pain cause some of my apps won't even function on slow data. Anyone know why it uses so much data? Or what I can do to make it cut down on usage?

Lol. I'm using an app, for some reason the reply I posted got into this thread (was looking at this before that other one). I have no answer other than we have to find out what is using it. Android OS uses a lot of services that other apps invoke. For example, I play a game called War Robots and its data usage shows up as Android OS.

Ahhh okay lol. The only apps I use are Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram occasionally, and a modded kik. That's basically all the apps that I have due to this phone's terrible storage. A few months back I had the 5gb plan and it usually lasted 2 1/2 to 3 weeks but since I've got the 10gb plan it seems that my data keeps draining faster.

What phone do you have? It could be an update that somehow got into a download loop. Deleting system cache may be able to help.

I'm have an LG G Vista. I delete cached data pretty regularly. And under misc files there's "ProgramData" taking up 514mb and I've never really understood what it was idk if it has anything to do with this or not.

Hi, Sessios was having the same problem and he posted the following :-

Pikek, it was pikek. I deleted it and switched it to the normal kik messenger and all the data eating seems to have stopped. No clue why this happened, maybe it was some kind of effort by the official Kik people to get people away from pikek. Will report back if anything else happens but it looks like it's fixed. Your mention of a 'modded kik' waved a big red flag.

If those are the only apps you use and it turns out not to be your modded kik, you could try disabling the others one by one and see what happens.

I've had modded kiks for probably over a year and just the past few months have had this problem but it might've been the latest one I've downloaded. I believe the one I use regularly is based off of pikek and I do have 2 pikeks so I'll probably delete them and use the regular kik app and see if it fixes it. Thanks!
