ezPDF Reader

Hi, I bought this app. I have a few questions:

1. Where am I supposed to store the pdf/ebook file? On the bookshelf, there is only one item called "ezPDF Builder for Mobile". The file came with the application.

2. Whenever I move my finger across the screen to turn to the next page, there is some kind of resistance. Sometimes I can turn to the next page but there is a pause of about 1 sec. (I can see half of the current and half of the next pages on the same screen.) Sometimes I cannot turn to the next page. It is like I try to turn a page but do not apply enough force to turn it in a physical sense. What settings should I use? I have:

Default reading direction: Auto (Infer Direction From Document)
Pre-render Current Page: yes
Pre-render Next Page: yes
Page Scroll Type: Change Page with Horizontal Scroll
Page Scolling Sensitivity: Above 5% of screen size (I tried above 60% but I could not turn to the next page most of the time.)
Enable Page Flipping: off

Thanks

1. You can store the PDF's where you want :) when you have opened it they will be on the book shelf.

2. Depends of size and content of a PDF the reader will need some time for rendering the next page.

Other readers like Mantano Reader does pre-rendering with opening the PDF. So there is a delay when Mantano opens a PDF. But there isn't any delay from page to page.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks.

1. When I clicked Recent, the file "ezPDF Builder for Mobile" appears on the bookshelf. When I clicked All PDF instead, all the .pdf files stored in /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/ebooks are listed. How do I make all the pdf/ebook appear on the bookshelf?

2. The ones I tried contain only simple text, no graphics. Such long pause is unacceptable. Perhaps there is something wrong with my settings? With such a long pause even browsing only the text, it is hard to imagine that it is called the best pdf browser. If this issue cannot be solved, I regret buying the app.

1. Open and close these eBooks and they'll appear at Recent tab in the book shelf.
I can't think of an other way.

2. I don't notice any delay.
Maybe depends on phone's processor power? I tried with my HTC Sensation.

Try Mantano Reader, for trying there is a free version with ads.

1. So, they don't appear on the bookshelf automatically. I have to open them first before they can appear on the shelf.

2. I am using a Galaxy Note. I think it is pretty fast. What settings do you use?

The delay between switching pages isn't a problem with the phone, its an issue with how ezPDF renders pages. It only starts to load the next page when you switch to it. A lot of readers operate like that. Mantano Reader on the other hand renders several pages immediately when you open the file, so there is almost no delay when switching pages. However, there is a delay when you click the file to open. So basically in apps, you have to choose whether to go with one that delays between switching pages, or delays in opening the file.

When I used eBook on my 3.5 years old iPodTouch to read ebooks, I did not experience such long pause. Looks like I better turn on Enable Page Flipping. At least it is more enjoyable to watch the animation than to see the pause.

Anybody knows what Auto Page Interval is? I turned it on and off but did not notice any difference.

Because most likely, that ebook app runs the same way as Mantano, with the app well optimized. Mantano doesn't really have a long pause, although it probably depends on the phone as mine opens quickly (but Repligo opens a heart beat faster. Just try it

I noticed the delay on my tablet. I stumbled upon the place to change it in the settings tab somewhere. There is a setting to adjust how much of the page you have to scroll before it flips to the next page ( ie 20%, 30%)

It seems that if you don't move the specified amount of page it won't advance to the next page. So if you haven't moved...say 30% of the page it just stops at the bottom and you have to give it a bigger flick to get it to go to the next page
