Help Face Unlock Option Missing ??

TexasBadger

On my TF101, I got Face Unlock to run after deleting all certificates. Then the option showed up in Security, I selected and configured it, and it ran very well.

On my TF700T, the Face Unlock option is not shown in Security, even after all certificates have been deleted.

Does anyone have Face Unlock running on a TF700T? What is the trick?

Try "No Lock".

On my first Android phone, I hated and I mean HATED the "pull it out of your pocket, unlock the damn screen" and repeat this every single time you touch the phone.

No Lock lets me disable the lock (I wish I could figure out where they got the name though). I suppose if you are concerned about losing your phone with all your data you won't want this. I purchased Phone Locator, which allows me to wipe my phone remotely.....

One of the first things that cued me about the iPhone'a "take it or leave it, you can't change it" features was that they do NOT have an app for this, and apparently won't allow a developer to make one.

Anyone figured this out?

Just a friendly reminder...:)

For anyone who is security minded, keep in the back of your head that face unlock is easily fooled by simply having an image of the person its looking for.

Don't rely on that to protect any sensitive information you may have in the device.

Confirmed! After the minor OTA firmware update today, we do indeed have face unlock. It works just like it did on my TF101. We still do not have wallpaper scrolling, however. Other than camera improvements, I don't yet know what else came in the update.

On Jelly Bean, they made it more secure, in that it now looks for "blinking" of the eyes, so someone cannot put a photo in front of the camera to unlock.

I was hoping someone would say that :):p

So now you take that photo and edit it to not have eyes.

All it takes is 2 photos now.

There's video proof that a simple program like paint can fool the blink check
