Facebook app failing?

So me and my girlfriend just bought a HTC incredible S and set everything up exactly the same as each other when we first got the phones.
One problem I've had though, is with the facebook application; I don't get notification messages when someone posts / comments / inboxes, etc on my wall...
Hers receives it all instantly and I've been spending the past day or so trying to figure out why mine doesn't work

I've looked at the settings on the facebook application and the notifications ARE on and set to vibrate but I still don't receive anything at all for anything facebook related...

Help?

That's sort of normal. Facebook's new app is broken. Works on some, sometimes not. Friendcaster facebook app is more consistent though.

The android facebook app is widely regarded as being rubbish. It seems to be working ok for now, but no doubt they'll do another update that'll break it again. I pretty much always just use the internet browser to go on facebook.

I gave up on the app a long time ago. I use m.facebook and set notifications up through email. Got so tired of the app freezing, no notifications, slow...it sucks.

The latest update does seem to be working fine...so far...
No doubt they'll do another update that'll wreck it again.

One thing it used to have, which it doesn't any more, is the ability to upload photos to a specific album. I wish they'd bring that back :-(
