Help Facebook app not visible after freezing & unfreezing

Hi
I've S-Off my HTC Desire (Bravo, running Gingerbreak 2.3.3) with Revolutionary and installed ClockWorkRecovery to make a backup of my phone and then installed SuperSU binaries. My phone has now full root access, however I have a little problem because I wanted to get rid of some pre-installed apps that start themself even if I kill them, thus I downloaded Root Uninstaller and freezed some apps, including Facebook.
Then I saw that Root Uninstaller allows me to freeze unilimted times, but unfreeze only 3, thus I unfreezed all the apps i froze (happily I havent reached the limit) and then I downloaded Titanium Backup as people were suggesting it, but this didn't even let me freeze without buying Pro. Then I downloaded App Freezer, and now I have noticed that Facebook is not even on the list in App Freezer, nor on the applications list when I try to run it, however when I go to Settings->Applications->All I can see Facebook for HTC Sense and it is even running, I can force stop it. I also cannot add it as a widget, it looks like it's still frozen but somehow the phone sees it in the processes.
Any idea how to fix this ? I have made a backup before rooting so I could revert the phone to previous state, but I will do that only if nothing else will work.

Get a root file explorer - X-plore is pretty good - mount the /system read-write (rw) and go to /system/app.

To freeze an app change the end of the name - I just add a ".sav" to mine.

To unfreeze, reset the name to the original, ending in ".apk" - and yeah, you're paying money for a file renamer otherwise.

Hope this helps!

Welcome to the forums! :)

Hmm, it is there (HtcFacebook.apk), I'm not sure if I could use it on clear 2.3.3 version (htc removed some stuff to save internal memory, however there still is this 'facebook' thingy and it is present as running in the process list) but I'm sure it was on the app list in Root Uninstaller when I was freezing it.
It would suck if there was some app running in the background that I cannot even use.
BTW do you know if creating a partition on the SD card and using Link2SD to move apps to the sd card (like Google Play Services which takes over 50mb of memory and I installed it only because Snapchat needs it) is a good thing on the stock ROM? I saw somewhere that there could be some problem because the stock one doesn't support init script or something like this.

Sorry, I have no opinion on Link2SD.

Hi guys,
I needed to restore my phone today because I've played with some apps a little and that damn Google Play Services started crashing every few seconds (eh, autorun) so I decided to restore my phone and check if Facebook is there.
It is not, the app is gone however the widget is remaining there, probably so you can still use it after installing Facebook from the market.
I'll get my 8gb class 10 microSD in a few days probably, so I will link all the stuff like apps or dalvik cache to SD.
BTW do you guys know why could I have about 5 files somewhere on the cache folder on the internal memory named like:
Download-1.apk
Download-2.apk etc
each taking about 5 mb of space, however after deleting all of them I didn't gain any memory (at least it didn't show any more on the app list)

To expand on EarlyMon's post the desire has 3 partitions. System, cache and data. Available space refers to data.
